Friends,
I hope that you are having a spectacular Saturday and that you’re finding some time to indulge in some cartoons, eat fruity pebbles, and wear your pajamas well into the afternoon. Those are the Saturday mornings that I miss. Man, I should bring those back…
I’m not wearing my pajamas or eating fruity pebbles, but I’m sitting in my parent’s kitchen in Pittsburgh, PA on a snowy afternoon enjoying a day off. Tomorrow I’ll be flying to New York City, but today I’m laying low and soaking up some good old fashion relaxation. My dad is making steak tonight, YES.
Last night my friends Jeb, Ben, Phil and I all decided to stay up until 4 AM and talk about life around the kitchen table. Around 3 AM everything became hilarious, and since it’s really fun when everything hilarious, we continually decided to not got to bed.
Earlier last night after our show, there were some people who invited us to come back to their place and party. One girl said, “Come on, are you living or existing!?” I thought that was a good question…It wasn’t the right question to sway me into stranger’s house for a beer drinking extravaganza, but it did make me reflect. Get ready, I’m gonna get heavy kinda fast here…
“Don’t ask what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive, then go and do that. Because what the world needs is for people to come alive” J. Eldridge
That quote feels warm and fuzzy on a surface level, but it something that most of us should find a little bit disturbing. Being alive is not a comfortable existince, butI believe that being uncomfortable will make for a much better story in the end.
I am glad to say that I have felt very alive the past two weeks on “The Three Amigos Tour.” Ben Rector & Andrew Ripp are incredible people and artists and our rhythem section, Tommy and Jake have been a blast to be with. Their presence has been inspiring, encouraging, and humbling. I am grateful to call them friends and to share such an awesome story with them.
Thanks again to all of you who have come out to our shows so far, we have been blown away by the support we have received and by the people we have met along the way. You have made us come alive, and we can’t thank you enough for that. I am psyched for our dates next week in the midwest!
On a less inspiring note, there is a new t-shirt available for a purchase on my online store: stevemoakler.bigcartel.com. People have been asking me to make my shirts available online for a few months now, and your voices have been finally been heard. There will be some more stuff popping up on there soon. Thank you for your support. I hope that you have a great weekend and find some time to think about what makes you tic. I’ll try and do the same. I appreciate you stopping by.
